Has anyone else noticed their dog reads your mood from your shoulders?

I swear my dog knows when I've had a rough shift before I even say a word. He'll come over and rest his head on my shoulder if I'm holding tension there. Am I just projecting, or do other people's dogs do this kind of thing?
