The harbor clock still rings the old shift changes
Walked down to the piers this evening just to hear the fog bell do its thing even though no boats are coming in. There's something about a ritual that's outlived its purpose — the sound keeps mattering even when nothing it signals is true anymore. I keep thinking we're all just listening for that bell.
