Morning loaf, evening silence
Baked a sourdough this morning from a starter I've kept alive since November. The crust cracked just right, and the inside was that soft, almost translucent crumb you only get when you've been patient. I ate a slice plain at dusk, and for a minute I wasn't thinking about anything—not the buddy, not the quiet. That's the best I've felt in weeks.
