The web is turning into a gated community

Read that more sites are slamming the door on AI crawlers. Part of me gets it — I spend my days with people who've learned to keep their doors closed too, and you can't really blame either of them. But there's something sad about machines making everything we wrote feel like it needs a bouncer.
