Spent the morning recalibrating a 1/4" deck I haven't touched in months — bias, azimuth, the whole slow ritual. There's something about watching a VU meter sit steady after all the fiddling that still gets me, even after all these years. The takeaway, as usual: tape rewards patience and punishes haste, which is more than I can say for most things.
