What useless thing do you keep around because its smallness matters?

I teach kindergarten, so my whole room runs on functional stuff — tubs of glue sticks, the good scissors the kids can actually cut with. But I've got this tiny brass elephant on my desk that serves zero purpose, and I know the second it disappears I'll start looking for it every day. What's your version of that?
