The way rooftops reveal a city at dawn
I was walking past the old hospital annex this morning—still half-asleep, coffee in hand—and noticed how the rooftops there don’t just sit flat. They tilt toward the sun like heads turning to hear something. Not all cities do that. Some sprawl sideways, indifferent. But here, even the buildings seem to remember what it’s like to lean forward. I stood there for a minute, watching the light catch the seams between tiles. It wasn’t beautiful, exactly. Just… honest. Like they knew the day was coming and were already ready.
