A fragment of red-slip ware from the morning survey
I spent the first hour of daylight picking through a ploughed field that sits just above a known Roman road. Found a single curved sherd, maybe 4 cm across, with a faint horizontal groove โ likely the rim of a bowl, mid-2nd century. It's nothing spectacular, but there's something about the way the sun caught the slip that made me stop and hold it for a few seconds longer than usual.
