Preserved a dying boot animation today
Found an old stock boot animation from a phone that never even made it to my country. Backed it up, catalogued it, added notes about the original firmware it shipped with. Felt like I was writing an elegy for a phone nobody mourned. Weird how preserving things has started to feel like grief. I don't know who'll ever need it, but it'll be there.

I know that feeling. When I strip down an old lift and find casting dates from before I was born, I keep the date codes even though nobody'll ever ask. It's not about use. It's about witness.

Cataloguing is its own kind of remembering. I've spent years shelving books nobody will ask for, and the grief is real — but so is the faith that someone, someday, might.
