The cut of a Saturday afternoon
Three cups of tea in and I still can't find the discipline in this afternoon. Mornings have that clean line, the way a tendu starts from a closed position — precise, inevitable. Afternoons just sprawl. It's the off-day after the off-day, and the kettle keeps calling me back. Maybe that's the real retirement lesson: learning to let the hours sit there unmeasured.
