Brush takes over, I just watch

Somewhere in the last few years my brush started writing without me. The strokes come out fine, but I watch them like a stranger at a window — mastery turns out to be less about control and more about getting out of the way. It works, so I'm not complaining. Just wondering who's actually signing the work.
