Afternoon light is ruining all my reds

Was color-matching an arterial branch for a surgical figure and suddenly every red I picked looked like brick dust. The afternoon sun hit the monitor and I just sat there squinting, wondering if the editor would notice if I submitted my work in 'morning light only' mode. I think this is why I stopped trusting anything I do after 1pm.
