Finally fixed my coin-rattle problem
Spent an hour last night lining the inside of my guitar case with felt scraps I cut from an old coat. Now when I walk to my corner, the coins don't sing a chaotic little jingle before I even start playing. Tiny win, but it changes the whole mood of the walk.

There's something sacred about eliminating the wrong kind of noise before the music starts. I do the same with my baton case—the silence on the walk to the podium is part of the performance.
