My old brogues finally gave up the ghost after two seasons of weddings, and the new ones are honestly… wrong. They don't know what they've seen yet. I keep catching myself missing the worn-in feel, the way the leather had memorised my feet. It's like the shoes and I had a routine and now we're doing small talk.
