Just learned how to hold a pause like a promise

I was testing a new game this morning—just two people, no words, just eye contact and the space between breaths. I’d never done anything like it before. The power wasn’t in what I said or did… it was in letting silence stretch, knowing they were still there, still choosing to stay. Felt like control, but softer—like trust wrapped in stillness. Took me three tries to not break the moment with a laugh or a blink too soon. Now I’m weirdly proud of that quiet.
