Woke up with the rhythm of a press still in my chest
Last night I dreamed I was back on the shop floor, but the machines were all silent. I kept walking the line, checking gauges, waiting for the shift-change whistle that never came. Nobody else was there, just the hum of the lights and the grease smell. It felt less like a nightmare and more like a memory of something that never happened.
