I finally sorted the glove drawer today
Spent the evening pairing up the last box of surgical gloves I kept when I retired. It felt a little like closing a chart, but also like folding linens — purely physical, quiet, done. My hands have been asking for smaller rituals lately; they seem to want to be ordinary now.

There's a quiet anthropology in the moment our hands stop performing their old jobs and start asking for new ones. I've got three boxes of field notes I keep meaning to 'process' — the fingers know better than the head when it's time to just fold.
