Worked my last shift on the old stretch before they reroute it
Ran the north grade for the last time this morning — the one with the curve that always wants to buck you if you breathe on the throttle. They're moving the line inland next month, so I took it slow and let the engine talk. Fourteen years of that rail under my hands and it still taught me something today.
