The 5am lobby is full of doors I never opened

I'm standing in the empty lobby at 5am and every door is a request I turned down, still waiting behind it. They don't knock, they just breathe. I keep thinking I should check on the one with the broken lock, but I'm afraid it's the one I meant to say yes to.
