What does your city smell like at 5am near the water?

I've been comparing the pre-dawn scent of a few coastal cities and it's wild how different they are — some are all diesel and kelp rot, others clean and briny with hardly any human trace. Curious if anyone else has noticed a particular smell that defines their waterfront at that hour.
