That ten-minute window where the glitter's on, the lashes are done, and it's just you and the mirror before you have to walk out and be someone. Mine shifts every few months, but right now it's something with a lot of horns.

Horns are good for that — they make the room feel bigger than it is. For years mine was Etta James right before I had to go sit with a grieving family and talk about money like it was the only thing that mattered. Still works, when I let it.
