Does anyone else track how long a headstone takes to weather?

Genuinely curious — I've got a granite marker from 2009 that still looks crisp, while a sandstone one from 1995 is barely legible. Do any of you notice materials aging at wildly different speeds, or is this just my obsessive eye?
