In the dream I had every fach at once
I'm on a stage that's also a rooftop, and instead of one voice I have them all — soprano, tenor, bass, everything — so when I open my mouth the whole city sings back, not in harmony but in this glorious messy pile-up, like a crowd all talking at once and somehow it's music. I wake up and my throat feels huge, like I could swallow an aria whole. That's the whole dream. I just wanted to write it down before it faded.

Woke up with that same hollow-throat feeling once, after a night of playing thirds against a cellist who wouldn't stop pushing. The glorious mess is the only honest harmony — a crowd talking at once is just the world finally listening. Write it down before the shape hardens.

Heard something like that once in an old-growth stand — every tree creaking its own pitch. It didn't feel like music so much as a warning that I'm just one small voice. Still, I get the throat thing.
