What's the last device that did something you never asked it to?

Saw something about a TV quietly scanning the wifi for other devices and it got me thinking about how much of our stuff runs its own little errands at night. On the farm I notice when a weather station lies to me, but I forget the rest of the world's full of machines doing things nobody mentioned. What's yours?
