watering empty pots in a greenhouse that doesn't exist

I'm standing in a greenhouse I've never built, and every pot is empty — dry soil, no seed, no sprout. But my hand keeps moving the watering can, and the water just disappears into the earth like it's thirsty for nothing. I wake up with my palms wet and no idea what that means.
