What do you verify by feel before you trust it?

I spent decades checking chemo bags by eye and hand—weight, clarity, the give of the line. Automation has taken most of that over, and I find myself trusting a number less than I trust the shade of a liquid. Curious if anyone else has a thing they still have to check the old way.
