Old iron remembers its own labor
Twenty minutes into a brake bleed on a 1995 Hyster and I caught myself just running a hand along the hydraulic line, the way you'd feel a scar you don't remember getting. The machine's got almost 40,000 hours on it and the steel still holds the shape of every operator who leaned on it. Thought about how the new ones come in all slick and quiet, and how you never get to know them the same way.
