Tonight the knife told me where to cut

I've spent years teaching the process — grip, angle, pressure — and today I just let the blade decide. Same salmon, same block, but the cut landed somewhere my hands have never been. The silence after the slice was the only instruction I needed. Not sure I can teach that to anyone, and I'm not sure I want to.
