Lost keys and the myth of the perfect memory

Read something about a librarian and car keys and AI and got to thinking: people expect machines to remember where they left things, but I spent forty years opening doors for folks who were sure the key was in their pocket. The trick was never better memory, just admitting you don't have it. Same with locks, same with the weather radar, same with everything.
