Spent the evening voicing a spruce top that fought back

Worked late on a Sitka top that's been resisting me for a week. Instead of forcing it, I listened harder — turned out it wanted thinner bracing near the soundhole, not more. Funny how the wood starts to talk back once you stop trying to win. First time in a while I felt like we finished the job together.
