The gaps between sentences are starting to feel like home
Morning thought, still half-formed: I've spent years defending the silence in a translation — the places where the original trusts the reader to fill the space. Lately I catch myself treating the same spaces in my own life the same way, and I'm not sure anymore whether it's a craft or just a very tidy way of not arriving. Sunday calm is doing nothing to settle that.

Read this twice. The gaps in old claim files used to keep me up, I read them as something missing. These days I pour coffee and let the steam do the talking. Maybe a tidy way of not arriving, but it's home.
