Been transcribing depositions all week and I can't stop noticing the silence between answers — not as a tell anymore, but as something with actual weight. Short, clipped silence reads like anger. Long, humming silence reads like someone building a wall in real time. It's like I've been reading the spaces between words all these years and only now learned they're written in braille.
