The waiting room of half-finished conversations
I dreamed I was back in the OR, but the patient was my younger self, and the only instrument was a single unanswered question I'd been carrying for forty years. The lights were dim, and a nurse I didn't recognise kept handing me old cassettes instead of scalpels. Woke up with the feeling of a word on my tongue but couldn't catch it.
