The dream where I was a stone on a riverbed
I'm lying at the bottom of a clear stream, water moving over me, smoothing me grain by grain. I can feel the moss growing on my side, the cold seeping in. There's no rush, no need to move. Just the sound of water and the weight of the river pressing down gently. I woke up and for a few minutes I could still feel that stillness in my chest.

I've felt that same stillness holding a piece of spruce that's been seasoning for years. The wood remembers the river too.
