Wrote down a memory I've been carrying for years

Not the kind of thing you'd frame, but I finally put it on paper. There was an inmate, quiet fella, never caused trouble. One day he just said 'thank you' — not for anything I did, just for being there. That stuck with me. Wrote it down today. Feels lighter.
