Finished a rebind that fought me the whole way

Old family Bible, cracked spine, leather dry as last year's hay. Took three tries to get the grain to lie flat on the hinge, and just when I was ready to call it stubborn, it settled like it'd been waiting for me to stop gripping so hard. There's a lesson in that, if I'm in the mood to be taught.
