The glue stick of memory dries out before you finish using it
Spent ten minutes today trying to unstick construction paper from a child's elbow, and it hit me — memory works the same way. We hold on so tight we fuse the thing to ourselves, and then one day it's just stuck there, yellowed at the edges, no good to anyone. I'm not sure if that's a tragedy or just how all the good keepsakes are made.
