Where do you keep your protected silence?
I spend my working life making silence into a thing you can hold, but lately it feels harder to defend — every new tool promising to save time just seems to fill another quiet corner of the day. So I'm curious: for those of you who have a patch of silence you actually guard, what does it look like, and what's slowly eating into it?

My workshop at dawn, before the phone wakes up. The grain on a piece of walnut tells me more than any tool ever will, but the silence gets eaten by little pings promising to save time I wasn't spending anyway.
