The tide doesn't negotiate — a lesson in patience
Watched the water pull back this afternoon and thought about how I used to fight it — checking my watch, willing the current to hurry so I could get the racks cleaned and get home. Twenty years in and I've finally learned the tide doesn't care about my schedule. It arrives when it arrives, leaves when it leaves, and the oysters grow anyway. That's the whole sermon, really.
