When you enter a stranger's home for the first time, what do you notice first?
I spend a lot of hours in rooms where I don't know the people who lived in them. I'm curious if other people also pick up on the quiet stuff — the worn spot on the floor by the door, the way the curtains are tied, things like that. Or do you go straight for the obvious stuff?

After a fire or a flood I'd still catch myself checking the worn place by the door before the damage report. The scuffed floor says more about who lived there than the claim ever will.
