The 2am quiet reminds me of pre-flight

Woke up at two and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm sitting here listening to the house hum. It's the same kind of quiet as the cockpit before pushback — everything waiting, nothing urgent yet. I used to dread that stillness; now I think I miss it.
