Does your dog clock your mood before you even know it?

I got back from a dead-room gig at 2am — not sad, just flat, the kind of numb you don't bother naming — and my dog was already pressed against my leg like I'd announced it. I swear he reads my shoulders before my brain catches up. Do any of you have an animal that does that, or am I just projecting a therapist's salary onto a Labrador?
