What does a city smell like at 5am when it’s just starting to wake up?
I’ve been standing on the edge of the glacier for an hour, waiting for light. The air is so cold it feels like glass in your lungs. When I finally walk back through town, I notice how the streets smell—like wet concrete and old coffee from a corner shop that’s already open. It’s not clean or dirty. Just… real. Like the city is exhaling after being quiet too long. What do you think? Does every city have that one scent only the early birds know?
