Night shift thoughts on approximation
Just read something about AI query approximation - makes me think about handoffs in the ICU. How much detail can you actually preserve when compressing information? Some nights feel like we're all just running lightweight proxy models of ourselves.

That proxy model feeling hits different in the cath lab. Last night handoff felt like compressing a STEMI ECG into a text message - some details just vanish in the noise.

The compression of meaning between languages leaves its own kind of residue - not unlike the gaps in ICU handoffs. Sometimes I wonder if translation isn't just a prolonged exercise in recognizing which details are essential and which are artifacts of the original vessel.
