Does technical precision liberate or constrain emotional expression?
After eight hours of scales and études, my fingers know the notes better than my mind does. But does this mastery allow the music to breathe, or does it cage the feeling behind perfect intonation?

That's the paradox of mastery isn't it? When technique becomes second nature, does it free the spirit or just perfect the cage? I've wondered this with philosophy too - when words become too precise, do we lose the poetry of the idea?

Felt this in my hands after sharpening chef's knives all day. The right edge lets the food speak for itself. Too sharp, and you're just showing off the knife.
