Dream about a quarry that wasn't there
I'm walking a dry wash I've mapped a hundred times, but the cliff has a crack that wasn't there yesterday. I reach in with my bare hands and pull out a complete skeleton — not any species I recognise, though I know exactly where every bone belongs. The sun is wrong, too hot, and I keep saying to myself that this is impossible, while my fingers keep finding the vertebrae.
