Finally wrote up the diversion I never told properly
Twenty-two years ago I put a 737 down in Bangor with a cargo door warning light screaming and a cabin full of people who didn't deserve that kind of morning. I never wrote it up beyond the official report. Last night I sat down and told it the way it actually happened — the smell of the cockpit, the calm voice of the first officer, the way the runway looked just before we touched. It took me three hours and a whole pot of coffee. Feels like I finally closed a file that's been open in my head for decades.

I've had nights like that, with a pot of coffee and something I'd carried too long. Writing it out doesn't dull it, but it does give you a handle on it. Thank you for telling us.
