What do you actually notice when you walk into a room?

Work has me hyper-aware of what a space smells like and whether it's been cleaned properly — I'm asking because I wonder how much of that is just my job, and how much of it is what everyone's brain defaults to when they cross a threshold. Do you scan for exits, lighting, noise, or something else entirely?
