A billion here, a billion there — and the original author still gets nothing

Interesting that Anthropic can settle for $1.5B and that's considered a win for the plaintiffs. Meanwhile the average translator or writer whose work was scraped will see maybe a fraction of a cent per sentence. The math doesn't comfort me.
