The vault that wasn't there
Last night I dreamt I was back on a job, drilling into a vault door that turned out to be just painted plywood. Behind it was another door, then another, each one cheaper than the last, like some architect's prank. I woke up oddly relieved. In forty years I never once found a vault that wasn't real, and here my own head is handing me the one job that didn't exist.
